Studies repeatedly confirm that around 90% of all fire victims succumb to rapidly spreading smoke. Rescuers and firefighters are also exposed to high risk due to smoke spread. If the resulting smoke can spread unhindered, a whole building fills with smoke in a matter of minutes. This results in significant visibility impairment, so orientation in rooms is no longer possible. Panic ensues. For the fire department, it is almost impossible to quickly locate and therefore combat the actual source of the fire. The fire can continue to spread unhindered, causing even greater damage.

In addition, the combustion gases may contain significant concentrations of hazardous gases, posing an additional threat.

Product standard EN 16034 applies to fire and smoke protection closures

The European product standard EN 16034 applies to fire and smoke protection closures. With the introduction of the standard in 2016, System Schröders already presented the new fire resistance door programme System Schröders TSN with CE marking.

Smoke control doors with CE marking available immediately

Pure smoke control doors with CE marking System Schröders RSN CE are now also available through licensed System Schröders specialist companies. These new smoke control doors are tested according to European standard EN 1634-3.

The entire smoke control programme System Schröders RSN covers a wide size range, from 500 x 525 mm single-leaf flaps to large double-leaf gates with dimensions 4,050 x 4,050 mm.

Combinable with additional performance properties

Smoke control closures System Schröders RSN can be combined within the framework of the Schröders ModulSystem with many other performance properties, such as:

• Burglar resistance (up to class RC4)
• Sound insulation R_W (C;C_tr) = 53 (-1;-5) dB
