Burglar resistance – simply safer
Simply a clever idea: the System Schröders HandleBox burglar resistance. Developed by System Schröders on the basis of decades of experience in the development of security doors.
Emergency exit doors must be equipped with an anti-panic lock. The escape route must always be clear in an emergency. For closures with burglar resistance in escape and rescue routes, this leads to a dilemma: panic opening conflicts with burglar resistance.
System Schröders has developed an astonishingly simple and at the same time effective solution with the HandleBox burglar resistance. It is an enclosure for the door lever handle on the attack side. The HandleBox prevents direct access to the door lever handle and thereby effectively protects it against manipulation. From the outside, the handle can no longer be captured with a wire (spindle) and operated.
The burglar resistance of the door remains fully intact.
Panic function
The enclosure is tested according to EN 179 and guarantees the proper function of the panic lock in escape and rescue routes. It is suitable for various security fittings with long backplates and can therefore be used flexibly with different fitting variants – including doors with double cylinder locks.
An emergency release device is no longer required, so the door can be opened with one hand in an emergency. The resulting cost savings further increase the attractiveness of the HandleBox.
Drill protection
An optional drill protection between the door leaf and the HandleBox protects up to resistance class RC4. It reliably prevents attempts at access and manipulation with a drilling machine and additionally protects the area behind it.
For burglar resistance doors from the System Schröders ModulSystem that are equipped with the HandleBox including drill protection, full-surface drill protection of the door leaf can be omitted. This saves costs and door weight.
Glazing and grille inserts
Up to now, glass or ventilation grille inserts in burglar resistance doors have not been permitted to fall below a critical area of 300 mm around the handle. With the HandleBox, this value may be undercut. This allows larger glass surfaces or grille inserts in burglar resistance doors.
Retrofittable
The enclosure is the ideal addition for System Schröders doors with burglar resistance from resistance class RC1 upwards.
It is moreover suitable for retrofitting existing doors without original classification – regardless of the door manufacturer. This is because the enclosure specifically secures the door lever handle against burglary attempts.
With the HandleBox, System Schröders offers another flexible solution – both for new installations and for retrofitting existing doors.
